No Sew Fleece Blankets

Thursday 14th at 9am (this is a day activitiy) we will be learning how to make no sew blankets.

You can come and watch or bring your own fleece and make one there. See samples below to get an idea about what you would like to do.

This is a reversable one (above). If you would like to do one of these, you need 2 pieces of fleece the same size. One print and one solid. Or two prints or 2 solids. Your choice!
Here is one with a panel. You can find these.
You can also do a single patter or solid.
If you are making a baby blanket or small child a good size is 1 yard of fleece.
If you are making one for a bigger child or adult, you might want to go 2 yards or more.
Hancock fabric is having a sale on monday on fleece.
No need to bring anything else.
These make great gifts! I am going to do a Bills Football fleece for my hubby for Christmas!
Thanks to Chris Bushman for teaching the class. YOU ROCK CHRIS!

In need of help

Tonight we were able to cut some fabric for quilts, but we need a lot more done. Summer and I have put together small bags of fabric that need to be cut into squares and sewn together. Most of them will make baby size to small blankets.
We have about 20 more blankets to make. Please comment, email or call me to let me know if you could make a quilt top for us. You have until October to finish it. The bags are in the RS closet just waiting for your kind hart to take one.
If you need blessings, then this is the perfect service project for you. PLEEEEEESE!!!!

Pillow Cases

Humanitarian Aid is in need of old pillow cases. So if you have any that you don't use anymore, please bring them to church on Sunday and give them to Debbie Roark or myself.
We will use the scraps of fabric from the quilts and stuff them into the pillow cases and sew them closed. We will then take them to the animal shelter for the dogs to lay on.
AHHHHHH! You know you want to help!!!

Sewing

After our service project tonight we will have quilt tops to sew together.
Any sister interested in sewing together a quilt (or more), please let me know. We don't have to have them ready until October, so that gives you over a month.
The more people we have to sew, the more blankets we can donate. And the more blessings!
You just have to know how to sew a straight line!

New Book for Book Club

The Wednesday Letters is the story of Jack and Laurel. Married 39 years, the Coopers lived a good life and appear to have had a near-perfect relationship. Then one night, with his wife cradled in his arms, and before Jack takes his last breath, he scribbles his final "Wednesday Letter."
When their three adult children arrive to arrange the funeral, they discover boxes and boxes full of love letters that their father wrote to their mother on every single Wednesday. As they begin to open and read the letters, the children uncover unimaginable adventures and the shocking truth about their past.
The Wednesday Letters has a powerful message about redemption and forgiveness. And it just might inspire you to begin writing your own Wednesday Letters.
Book by Jason F. Wright. He is an LDS Author. You can buy this book at the LDS Book store or get it at the Library. We will be meeting in April to discuss this book.
ENJOY!
